Welcome to News Speak (“News Speak“, “we“, “our“, or “us“). These Terms & Conditions (“Terms“) govern your access to and use of our website, mobile site, apps, newsletters, feeds, social media pages, and any other products or services that link to or reference these Terms (collectively, the “Services“). By accessing or using the Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that are inactive, compromised, or in breach of these Terms.

6) Access and Use of Services

6.1 Permitted Use

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use the Services for your personal, non-commercial use, subject to these Terms.

6.2 Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

Violate any applicable laws (including the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the rules thereunder), court orders, or third-party rights.
Post or transmit unlawful, defamatory, obscene, pornographic, hateful, harassing, or otherwise objectionable material; incite violence; or promote misinformation.
Impersonate any person or entity; or misrepresent your affiliation.
Infringe intellectual property or privacy rights; or disclose others’ personal data without consent.
Use automated tools (bots, scrapers, spiders) to access or extract data, except for standard web indexing by search engines or as permitted by an official API/RSS.
Introduce malware or attempt to probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of any system.
Interfere with the proper working of the Services or impose an unreasonable load on our infrastructure.

6.3 Linking, Embeds & Framing

You may link to publicly available pages in a fair and legal manner that does not damage our reputation or suggest endorsement. You must not frame our pages or embed them in a way that alters their presentation or misleads users.

6.4 RSS, APIs & Syndication

Where provided, you may use our RSS feeds or APIs for personal, non-commercial use, unmodified, with attribution to News Speak and a link to the original page. We may revoke this permission at any time.

7) User-Generated Content (UGC)

7.1 Ownership

You retain ownership of your User Content. By submitting User Content, you grant News Speak a worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable, transferable licence to host, store, reproduce, distribute, display, perform, adapt, translate, create derivative works from, and otherwise use such content in connection with the Services and our business (including for promotion and archives), in any media now known or later developed.

7.2 Representations & Warranties

You represent and warrant that you own or have the necessary rights to your User Content; that it does not infringe any rights; and that it complies with these Terms and applicable law.

7.3 Moderation & Removal

We may, but are not obligated to, monitor, edit, or remove User Content in our discretion, including content reported by users or authorities.

7.4 Community Guidelines

Be respectful; avoid hate speech, harassment, threats, defamation, and incitement; do not post others’ personal data; and stay on-topic to the story.

8) Intellectual Property

8.1 Our Content

Unless otherwise stated, all Content on the Services is owned by News Speak or our licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. All rights are reserved.

8.2 Limited Licence to You

We grant you a limited licence to access and view the Content for personal, non-commercial use. You may share links and excerpts (up to 100 words) with attribution and a link back to the original page. Any other use (including reproduction, distribution, translation, adaptation, or commercial use) requires prior written permission from News Speak.

8.3 Trademarks

“News Speak” and associated logos are trademarks/service marks of News Speak. You may not use them without our prior written consent.

9) Advertising, Sponsored & Branded Content

We may publish advertising, affiliate links, sponsored/paid content, or brand integrations. Sponsored items will be labelled (e.g., “Sponsored”, “Advertisement”, “ब्रांडेड सामग्री”). We are not responsible for third-party products, services, or claims. Your dealings with advertisers are solely between you and the third party.

10) Subscriptions & Paid Services

10.1 Billing

Prices, taxes, and payment terms will be disclosed at purchase. By subscribing, you authorize recurring charges until you cancel.

10.2 Trials, Renewals & Cancellation

Trials convert to paid plans unless cancelled before the trial ends. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled through your account settings. Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy (if any) and applicable law.

10.3 Access Restrictions

Paid content is for your personal use. Sharing login credentials or paywalled content beyond fair use is prohibited.

11) Contests & Promotions

Additional terms may apply to contests, surveys, or promotions. In case of conflict, the specific promotion terms prevail.

12) Disclaimers

Editorial Independence & Accuracy: We strive for accurate, timely journalism but do not guarantee completeness or error-free Content. Opinions expressed are those of the authors.
No Professional Advice: Content is for information only and is not legal, financial, investment, medical, or other professional advice.
Availability: The Services are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind, express or implied.

13) Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, News Speak and its directors, employees, partners, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or loss of profits, revenues, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising from or relating to your use of or inability to use the Services, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability for any claims arising out of or relating to the Services shall not exceed the amount you paid to us (if any) in the six (6) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

14) Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless News Speak and its affiliates from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to your use of the Services, your User Content, or your breach of these Terms or applicable law.

15) Compliance with Indian Law & Grievance Redressal

We operate in accordance with applicable Indian laws, including the Information Technology Act, 2000, the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021, and subsequent amendments, as applicable to publishers of news and current affairs content.

15.1 Grievance Redressal (Level I)

If you have a complaint regarding Content, please email the Grievance Officer at [grievance@newsspeak.example] or write to the postal address above with:

Your name, contact details, and a description of the complaint;
The exact URL and date/time of the Content;
A statement of grounds for the complaint with supporting documents; and
A declaration that the information provided is true and complete.

We will acknowledge your complaint within 24–72 hours and endeavour to resolve it within 15 days, or as required by applicable law.

15.2 Self-Regulatory Body (Level II)

If you are dissatisfied with our resolution, you may escalate to our registered Level II self-regulatory body (details will be provided in our response, where applicable).

15.3 Government Oversight (Level III)

You may also approach the appropriate oversight mechanism established by the Government of India, as per applicable rules.

16) Corrections, Updates & Takedown Requests

We welcome requests for corrections or updates. For copyright or trademark complaints under the Copyright Act, 1957 and other applicable laws, please submit a detailed notice (ownership proof, infringing URL(s), and good-faith statement). On valid notice, we may remove or disable access to the material and, where appropriate, notify the user.

17) Privacy & Cookies

Your use of the Services is subject to our Privacy Policy (which describes how we collect and process personal data, including under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023) and our Cookie Policy. Please review these policies regularly.

18) Third-Party Links & Services

The Services may contain links to third-party websites, apps, or services. We do not control or endorse, and are not responsible for, such third-party content or practices.

19) Termination & Suspensio

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Services at any time, with or without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms, applicable law, or is harmful to other users or our interests. You may stop using the Services at any time.

20) Changes to the Services and to These Terms

We may update the Services and these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be indicated by updating the “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, providing additional notice. Your continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

21) Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

23) Miscellaneous

Severability: If any provision is held invalid, the remaining provisions remain in full force.
No Waiver: Our failure to enforce a right is not a waiver of that right.
Assignment: You may not assign these Terms without our consent. We may assign these Terms as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
Force Majeure: We are not liable for delays or failures due to events beyond our reasonable control (e.g., natural disasters, war, strikes, internet outages, government actions).
Entire Agreement: These Terms, along with policies referenced herein, constitute the entire agreement between you and News Speak regarding the Services.
