The Supreme Court of India has made a major decision about the upcoming Diwali festival in 2025. It has provided a significant relief by lifting the complete ban on firecrackers in Delhi and the surrounding National Capital Region (NCR).
According to the new order, people will be allowed to use special “green firecrackers,” which are designed to cause less air pollution.
However, this permission comes with strict rules. The court has set specific and limited time slots during which these firecrackers can be used. This decision aims to balance the tradition of celebrating the festival with the urgent need to control the city’s severe air pollution.
